A joint operation by the agents of the Pozzuoli Police Station and the military of the NOR Command of the Carabinieri of Pozzuoli led to the arrest, on the initiative of the Judicial Police, of a 32-year-old from Pozzuoli, seriously suspected, among other things, of having brought a .38 special revolver type weapon into a public place.

The latter was later found to be the subject of a burglary that took place in San Bonifacio, in the province of Verona, on August 8th.

The suspect, after attempting to disappear on a motorcycle driven by an accomplice, was found on foot at the end of a long and daring chase with the police.

The man was attempting to escape, taking advantage of the poor lighting and the shelter of a building. During a personal search, he was found in possession of a sum of money exceeding one thousand euros, for which he was unable to provide a valid explanation.

The subsequent inspection led to the discovery of a chrome-plated revolver-type pistol with a wooden grip, in perfect condition, shiny and lubricated.

The weapon was hidden in the wild vegetation at the exact spot where the subject had been seen stopping before increasing his pace and hiding a few meters further on.

The suspect underwent photo and fingerprint tests on the morning of August 23rd and was subsequently taken to the Naples Poggioreale Prison. On the morning of Saturday, August 24th, he was issued a precautionary custody order by the Preliminary Investigations Judge.
