An evening of checks, intensified for the nightlife of a Saturday night in the heart of August in Agerola, a favourite destination for many young people and tourists looking for fresh air and relaxation.
A female pusher was stopped as she was ready to sell her cocaine that she was transporting in her car to customers in the small holiday town of Lattari Mountains which overlooks both the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno.
The military from the Agerola station are on the street for routine checks. The paddle is raised and the car of 53-year-old Cristina Fortunato pulls over.
The 53-year-old's visible agitation was justified when the police found a glass jar in the passenger compartment. Inside almost 50 grams of cocaine, divided into 46 doses.
Also on him was 940 euros in cash believed to be drug dealing proceeds.
Fortunato ended up in handcuffs and is now in Secondigliano prison, awaiting trial.
