In July 2024, according to the RC Auto Observatory Facile.it - Insurance.it the average premiums for insuring a car in Campania are increased by 8,52% on an annual basis reaching 1.079,26 €euro, that is to say about 85 € plus compared to July 2023*, even 107 in Naples.
The good news, however, is that for a few months the trend of increases has been reverse and, if we look at the semester, in some provinces the values they started to go down and in any case, at a regional level, the increase was much more limited, equal to just 0,55%.
«Although the changed economic context is still making its impact on car insurance premiums, the first positive signals are starting to arrive from the market, linked to the slowdown in inflation and a stabilization of claims rates», explains Andrea Ghizzoni, Managing Director of insurance at Facile.it «Although the context is therefore characterised by uncertainty, it is reasonable to expect a progressive stabilisation of premiums.».
Provincial trends
Analyzing the data on a territorial basis, it emerges that in July 2024 the premiums have substantially increased throughout the region, albeit with important differences between one province and another.

The most significant annual increase was recorded in the province of Benevento, where the average premium over the twelve months rose by 11,97%. In second place is the province of Napoli, where prices have increased by 10,09%, followed by that of Salerno (+ 8,46%.). At the foot of the podium - and also with increases lower than the regional average like Salerno - Avellino (+ 6,22 %) to Caserta (+ 4,51 %).
However, if we move from observing the data on an annual basis to doing so on a half-yearly basis, we need to highlight the negative values register at Benevento (-1,53%), Caserta (-3,27%) And Avellino (-14,85%).
The absolute values
Analyzing the data from the Observatory of Facile.it, it emerges that, in July 2024, the province of Campania in which car insurance costs the most was that of Napoli, where the average prize reached 1.166,79 euros. The provinces of Caserta (995,60 euros) e Salerno (841,38 euros). The areas where, on the other hand, the average premiums were lower were those of Benevento (776,35 euros), and Avellino (794,37 euro).
