Sant'Antimo. The latest road accident that occurred at dawn this morning on the outskirts of Sant'Antimo has resulted in serious injuries, with two young people critically injured and the driver on the run and still being sought.
The Carabinieri of the Giugliano in Campania company intervened at the intersection between Via Leopardi and Via Di Giacomo following the report of a road accident.
Shortly before and for reasons currently being investigated, two boys aged 2 and 20 riding a scooter collided head-on with a car travelling in the opposite direction and whose driver he fled without providing any assistance.
The boys are originally from Melito di Napoli and were seriously injured in the impact. The 20-year-old, who was driving, was transferred to Cardarelli with a reserved prognosis and is in danger of life.
The 18-year-old passenger is hospitalized at Ospedale del Mare with a critical prognosis; his life is also in danger.
Investigations are underway by the Giugliano Carabinieri, who are committed to reconstructing the entire incident and identifying the hit-and-run driver.
The military is analyzing the images from public and private cameras present in the accident area.
