A night of adrenaline and danger in the streets of Naples and Caserta, with the Carabinieri protagonists of a daring chase that ended with the arrest of two young fugitives. It all began shortly before 3 in the morning in Scampia, a well-known neighborhood in the Campania capital.
A patrol car from the mobile radio unit was patrolling the area when, driving along Via Fratelli Cervi, they noticed a suspicious Fiat Panda with two young men inside. The unusual location and time prompted the officers to stop the vehicle for a routine check. However, when the officers gave the signal to stop, the two young men stepped on the accelerator, sparking a dangerous chase.
The escape stretched for 44 kilometers, with the fugitives performing reckless maneuvers, crossing roads the wrong way, and damaging several parked cars along the way. The near-deserted roads of the night only fueled the heat of the escape, until the motorized duel moved from the Naples area to Cancello ed Arnone, in the province of Caserta.
