The man got off the train he was on at the Afragola High Speed ​​station – a Frecciarossa that had left Turin and was headed to Villa San Giovanni – but did not notice it restarting after a brief stop, losing contact with his 7-year-old son who had remained on board.

Trenitalia's rescue machine immediately got going. Once notified, the Frecciarossa train conductor took the boy into custody and then handed him over to customer service upon arrival at Napoli Centrale.

Here the child was joined shortly after by his father from Afragola and together they resumed their journey towards Villa San Giovanni aboard another Intercity train.
