Naples. A joint operation by the military of the Naval Station of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples has brought to light a vast illegal occupation of maritime spaces in the locality of Nisida.
During a routine check of state concessions, the military discovered that three concessionaires had illegally expanded their authorized areas, occupying a total of approximately 21.000 square meters of additional sea.
In this illegally occupied portion of the sea, over 500 small vessels were counted, moored thanks to specially installed dead weights and chains.
It is estimated that this illegal activity would have earned the dealers approximately 1.200.000 euros for the current season alone.
Thanks to the intervention of divers, it was possible to identify and record all the infrastructures used for illegal mooring.

At the end of the operations, the area of approximately 21.000 square meters was seized and the concessionaires were reported to the judicial authorities for invasion of land or buildings and illegal occupation of state-owned space.
Those responsible were also asked to remove the vessels and restore the state of the seabed.
