The Guardia di Finanza (Financial Police) in Sala Consilina , in the province of Salerno, seized approximately 25.000 items found inside a local business. These unsafe products were displayed on several shelves, including household items, stationery on various shelves, household items, stationery, and costume jewelry.
The products were found not to comply with the provisions of the Consumer Code because they lacked the minimum identifying information such as data relating to the manufacturer/importer, the country of origin, the nature of the materials used for their production, the instructions and precautions for use, which by law must be present on the packaging or on the respective labels, in a visible, legible manner and in Italian.
The men of the Guardia di Finanza reported the owner of the business to the competent Chamber of Commerce, who risks a fine that can exceed 25 thousand euros.
