A 30-year-old man, originally from Morocco, was wanted following a precautionary custody order issued by the investigating judge of Milan, and was arrested by the Carabinieri in the Salerno area.
Carabinieri from the local station discovered him yesterday afternoon in Campolongo di Santa Cecilia di Eboli, during a dynamic territorial control operation aimed at preventing crime.
The checks revealed that the Moroccan was wanted for having been the recipient of an arrest warrant for possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.
He was accompanied by another Moroccan, who turned out to be an illegal immigrant in Italy, and deportation proceedings have been initiated. He was found in possession of 1,80 grams of hashish and reported to the Salerno Prefecture as a drug user.
