A Jazz and Cinema Project
Stefano Di Battista, born in Rome in 1969 and considered one of the leading lights of contemporary Italian jazz, returns to the stage with the Morricone Stories project. Morricone's cinematic music, characterized by emotional melodies and intelligent harmonies, lends itself particularly well to Di Battista's jazz approach. The versatility of Morricone's compositions allows for the exploration of new interpretations, which remain enjoyable and recognizable even when reinterpreted differently.
A Heartfelt Homage
Di Battista's recent project is not just a simple tribute, but a true act of love towards the late maestro. Stefano Di Battista worked with Ennio Morricone, establishing a sincere friendship with him. This bond is reflected in the respect and passion with which the jazz musician revisits Morricone's iconic themes. The repertoire includes famous pieces such as "Deborah's Song" from Once Upon a Time in America and the "Coyote Theme" from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, along with lesser-known but equally worthy soundtracks from Italian films of the 70s.
