A joint operation between the Italian State Police and the Italian Army, as part of the "Safe Roads" service, led to the recovery of a 64-year-old Neapolitan man who disappeared from his home on July 29.
The man, suffering from various illnesses and having stopped receiving treatment, had left Naples.
His sister, his legal guardian, alarmed by his disappearance, had filed a complaint and had also turned to the television programme "Who has seen?".
Thanks to a tip from a journalist on the program, who had spotted the man near Piazza dei Cinquecento in Rome, the police concentrated their search on Termini station.
Thanks to the video and photos provided by the journalist, investigators issued an alert to all patrols in the area. After about an hour, the 64-year-old was located by railway police officers, who escorted him to their offices to await medical personnel.
The man was taken to the hospital for treatment, and the police immediately notified his family of the discovery and provided them with information about his whereabouts.
