The Civil Protection of the Campania Region has issued a new weather alert for thunderstorms, with Yellow level hydrogeological criticality, valid from 6:00 am tomorrow, Thursday 5 September, until 6:00 am on Friday 6 September, throughout the regional territory, with the exception of alert zones 4 (Alta Irpinia and Sannio) and 7 (Tanagro).
The forecasted storms will be characterized by forecast uncertainty and rapid evolution, with the possibility of being particularly intense and sudden. The risk of lightning, hail and gusts of wind is also expected.
Particular attention is recommended to hydrogeological risks: the Civil Protection Department reports possible flooding, rising water levels in watercourses, water flowing on roads, runoff carrying material, falling rocks, and landslides.

These phenomena can be aggravated by recent forest fires, soil saturation or the hydrogeological fragility of the land.
Due to gusts of wind, it is necessary to monitor public greenery (with the risk of falling branches or trees) and ensure the stability of exposed structures.
Civil Protection reminds Municipalities to activate the COC (Municipal Operations Centers), to follow the communications of the unified regional operations room and to adopt all necessary measures to prevent, counter and mitigate the expected phenomena, in accordance with the respective municipal civil protection plans.
