Article Key Points
A Deep Thematic Exploration
Born in Genoa in 1980, Fabio De Santis has developed his career between Italy and France, exhibiting in various cities internationally. “Angeli Ribelli” focuses on themes such as the fall and rebellion, using the contrast between black and white and the presence/absence of pigment to create provocative and powerful visions. In each work you can feel the influence of the Neapolitan Baroque, which transports the viewer into a universe of dreams and nightmares, challenging the boundaries of traditional figurative. The expressive power of the Neapolitan Baroque is a constant that is reflected in the works, transforming dreams into visions and nightmares into powerful artistic manifestations.
The Visual Narration of the Works
The 23 works on display in Naples constitute a narrative that develops through questions, doubts, provocations and references to the theme of rebellion, of the fall and of the possibility of redemption and freedom. These concepts are investigated on a social and physical level, in desire and in the daily relationship with the divine. The conclusions of this artistic journey remain open, leaving room for multiple interpretations.
An International Artistic Journey
Since 2013, Fabio De Santis has been a member of PDP gallery, a collective that brings together international artists engaged in an ambitious project: to affirm the centrality of painting and art as tools to create, remember, communicate and transmit. Among the main stages of his journey with PDP gallery are Paris, London, Los Angeles, Genoa, and now Naples.
