## “Medievalia / Celestial Harmonies” at the Caserta Planetarium

On Saturday, September 21, 2024, the Caserta Planetarium will host a special event entitled "Medievalia / Armonie Celesti." The initiative is organized in collaboration with the "Francesco Durante" and "Ave Gratia Plena" cultural associations. This event is part of the 16th edition of Medievalia, dedicated to medieval culture.

### Event Details

The event will be divided into two shifts, at 19:00 pm and 19:30 pm, with a maximum of 25 participants for each shift. Participation is free, but it is necessary to book in advance via the links available on the Caserta Planetarium website: [first shift booking](https://www.planetariodicaserta.it/eventi/medievalia-armonie-celesti-a/), [second shift booking](https://www.planetariodicaserta.it/eventi/medievalia-armonie-celesti-1b/).

### The Three Phases of Experience

Each shift will be divided into three distinct moments. The first phase includes a guided tour of the exhibition “The instruments of 'mundana' music in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance”. During this visit, participants will have the opportunity to see, listen to and even try to play copies of musical instruments used during the medieval and Renaissance periods.

### Medieval Music Concert

The second moment of the event will be a short concert of medieval music performed by the vocal and instrumental chapel “I musici di corte”. The artists will wear clothes and use replica instruments of the period, performing pieces inspired by astronomy. It will be an immersive and authentic experience that will transport participants on a musical journey into the past.

### Show in the Dome

The third and final moment will be the dome show “Harmonies and Constellations in the Heavens”. This show will reveal to participants the musical aspects of astronomy, as experienced for at least two millennia up to the time of Kepler. It will be a fascinating journey through the connections between music and astronomy that promises to enchant young and old.

“Medievalia / Armonie Celesti” at the Caserta Planetarium promises to be an event full of historical, musical and astral suggestions.
