There were 33 road deaths in Italy over the last weekend, from August 30th to September 1st, a slight decrease from the 36 the previous weekend.
This is - according to the data provided from Asaps, the Association of Supporters of the Traffic Police - of ten motorists, 14 motorcyclists, 5 pedestrians, two cyclists, a truck driver and the passenger of an agricultural trailer.
The youngest victim was a 17-year-old boy, the oldest an 83-year-old woman, seven were under 35.
The report considered the deaths of three women aged 35, 52 and 83 and two men aged 19 and 60 who had been seriously injured over the previous weekends.
Two multi-fatal accidents caused four victims, while the vehicle leaving without the involvement of third parties was the cause of 15 fatal accidents, 12 of which occurred on state and provincial roads. The highest number of fatalities was counted in Lazio, with 5 victims, followed by Lombardy, Veneto and Puglia with 4, Piedmont and Emilia-Romagna with 3, Trentino-Alto Adige with 2 and one each in Liguria, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Tuscany, Abruzzo, Campania, Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia.
