The Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, met Emiliano Esposito, the heroic driver of the EAV bus on the Naples – Monte di Procida line who was injured while saving two girls from a molester.
Esposito was also accompanied by his wife Rosa. Emiliano Esposito, on the morning of September 3, around 5:00, stopped the vehicle on the Via Provinciale San Gennaro to let two frightened girls get on board, chased by a driver who was trying to force them to get into his vehicle.
The attacker, not satisfied, continued to follow the bus and, taking advantage of a stop at a traffic light, hit the driver with a jack through the open window, injuring him in the face and head.
Despite his injuries, upon reaching the warehouse, Mr. Esposito promptly alerted the Carabinieri, who were able to track down and report the attacker.

On the same day, the Prefect had spoken to Mr. Esposito by telephone to inquire about his health conditions, wishing him a speedy recovery.
Yesterday he received Mr. Esposito and his wife in the Prefecture to express his deepest appreciation for the courage and the promptness shown in intervening on behalf of the two girls.
The Prefect underlined how this gesture denotes a deep civic sense, altruism and solidarity, qualities that fit perfectly into the long tradition of the Neapolitan community, always welcoming and supportive.
