A Monteforte Irpino the Carabinieri of the Forestry Unit and of the local Station proceeded to check a truck loaded with ferrous scrap.
The vehicle was driven by a 30-year-old of Romanian origin, who was carrying out transport activities without the necessary authorizations.
The inspection revealed that the driver of the vehicle was not registered in the National Register of Environmental Managers, as required by law to carry out waste collection, transportation and disposal activities.
For this reason, the 30-year-old was reported at large to the Avellino Prosecutor's Office. Both the truck and the load (mainly made up of sheet metal, vehicle parts and other scrap) were seized.
Investigations are underway to identify both the place where the ferrous material was collected and the site where it was then disposed of.
