Plot and Contents of “Western Sunsets”

Published by Graus Edizioni for the Gli Specchi di Narciso series, “Tramonti Occidentale” draws inspiration from a story by director and writer Maurizio Del Greco, with valuable contributions from MEP Pietro Bartolo in the preface and lawyer Hilarry Sedu in the afterword. The plot begins with the shipwreck of a boat departing from Libya, which shatters the dreams and hopes of a group of migrants. The only survivor is a little girl named Fatima, whose encounter with lieutenant Peppe Moccia will change both of them. The latter, moved by deep feelings, decides to adopt Fatima, bringing joy to his family but also challenges that will test the domestic balance.

Intense and Current Topics

“Tramonti Occidentale” is a novel that invites us to reflect on human relationships and the delicate issues of immigration. It highlights the contrasts between hope and resignation, desire and suffering, offering a reading that moves and stimulates reflection on what it means to seek a better future far from one’s homeland. Giuseppe Tecce, with this work, not only tells a moving story but also stimulates the reader to look more deeply into the urgent and complex issues of our time.
