The criminal organization, closely linked to the Secondigliano Alliance and the Licciardi clan, was involved in various illegal activities, including drug trafficking and racketeering on illegal parking attendants in the nightlife area of Bagnoli and Coroglio.

Light was also shed on the murder of Anthony Ivone killed on August 29, 2000 in the neighborhood Trajan district.

The clan controlled the sale of drugs, especially hashish, in the Phlegraean area. Not only that. The affiliates extorted money from illegal parking attendants and illegally managed parking lots in nightclubs.

The investigation revealed that the organization had an arsenal and was involved in a mafia-style homicide.

The investigations, coordinated by the Anti-Mafia District Directorate of Naples, revealed how the Esposito/Nappi clan had a leading role in the local criminal landscape, managing the territory with violence and intimidation.

The drug dealing squares managed by the clan

In a continuous alternation of alliances and "wars" with the criminal associations opposing each other for territorial dominance in the Phlegraean area, the Esposito clan/Nappi ran a thriving drug dealing business – especially hashish – overseeing every stage of the drug trafficking chain, from the procurement of large quantities of drugs to retail sales.

One of the main businesses in which the criminal gang has been involved is the management of illegal parking in the Bagnoli area and the night clubs that animate the Phlegraean district.

The clan also collected 5 thousand euros a day from illegal parking attendants

The investigations, in fact, documented how the members of the clan forced, by threatening them, the illegal parking attendants to pay them large sums of money in order to continue carrying out their activity, with earnings that reached up to 5.000 euros a day and which went to replenish the common fund of the organization.

Numerous confirmations were also provided regarding the clan's availability of firearms, some of which were seized during the investigations.

The investigation that led to the issuing of a further precautionary measure, executed at the same time this morning, also takes place in the same territorial and criminal context.

The GIP of the Court of Naples, at the request of the local Anti-Mafia District Directorate, in fact, considered one of the main exponents of the Esposito/Nappi clan (also affected by the precautionary measure illustrated above) and another suspect, seriously suspected of the crime of wilful homicide aggravated by mafia methods, in relation to the killing of Antonio Ivone, which occurred on 29 August 2000 in the Rione Traiano district.

The Ivone murder was decided due to a clash between the dissolved D'Ausilio clan and its enemies

The latter was the victim of a of a Camorra nature during which he was hit by numerous gunshots fired at close range, while he was sitting outside a bar.

The investigative insights have allowed us to reconstruct the context in which the serious bloodshed occurred, namely a clash between the now dissolved D'Ausilio clan - from whose ashes the current Esposito/Nappi partnership was born - and opposing criminal groups, for the control of illegal activities in the Bagnoli area and in the Phlegraean area.
