Screenings and Meetings
The festival consists of 12 evenings, each of which presents a short film and a feature film of national and international scope. Each film is chosen to address often overlooked social issues, offering a platform for stories that deserve to be told. The initiative began on August 29 with the short film “Kvara, a story of love and football”, presented by directors Raffaele Iardino and Mario Leombruno, actor Vishem Risica Vijava Kumar and director of photography Diego Bernabei.
Social Issues
The themes covered by the films in the program include eating disorders, autism, memory, youth fragility, minorities, illnesses and work-related issues. For example, the second appointment saw the screening of the short film “M'amo non m'amo” by Jay Ruggiano, delving into binge eating disorder.
Upcoming events
The festival calendar continues on September 6 with the presence of director Vito Palumbo and producer Gaspare Rizzo who will present “Super Jesus”, in collaboration with the Premio Fausto Rossano Festival of social and mental health cinema. During the evening, the animated film “The famous invasion of the bears in Sicily” by Lorenzo Mattotti will also be screened. Another important event will be on September 16 with the short film “Il vicolo dei sogni” by Lorenzo Giroffi, which tells the story of the hopes of a group of Neapolitan boys, followed by the film “Jojo Rabbit” by Taika Waititi, a film that explores the tragedy of the Shoah through a youth perspective.
Workshops and Training
In addition to the screenings, the program includes two workshops on the use of audiovisual language in short films, directed by Marco Rossano in collaboration with the Associazione Premio Fausto Rossano. These seminars, open to all, aim to show the potential of audiovisual language and to provide the basis for interpreting and analyzing the social messages conveyed by images.
