The Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere has opened an investigation into the death of neo-melodic singer Carmine Diamante.
The 36-year-old artist, originally from Ponticelli, was electrocuted while playing near a fountain in his mother's garden in Castel Volturno.
He was with his grandchildren yesterday afternoon when he was hit by a powerful electric shock that threw him several meters away.
The artist's family, well known on social media, transported him to the Pineta Grande clinic but there was nothing that could be done for him. The singer's body was transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Caserta for an autopsy.
The Carabinieri were on site to investigate and gather brief information from witnesses, as well as the firefighters who secured the fountain.

And instead another friend wrote: “It took me a few hours to focus on whether it was a joke or an ugly reality… Life is too short to hurt people, it takes a moment and you're gone… I wonder why there are no words, I have no words… Rest in peace, it was an honor to have known you and thank you for everything… Carmine Diamante, condolences Paola Conte and the whole family”.
