During the summer, the Guardia di Finanza of the Provincial Command of Caserta has intensified controls to combat tax evasion and undeclared work, focusing in particular on bathing facilities of the Domitian coast.
The results of the operations have highlighted a worrying picture of irregularities in the tourism and restaurant sectors.During the inspections, the Guardia di Finanza discovered 16 illegal workers and fined 41 traders for failing to issue tax receipts. Of the 58 commercial activities inspected, 41 were found to be irregular, with a percentage of violations reaching 70,7%. Among the establishments inspected were beach resorts and restaurants, sectors that, during the summer season, see a significant increase in tourist flow.
Particularly serious are the cases found in 10 beaches of the Domitian coast, where 15 workers were found totally undeclared and one irregular. This type of violation, typical of areas with a strong tourist vocation, demonstrates the importance of strengthening the control activities of the Guardia di Finanza, aimed at countering phenomena of economic-financial illegality that damage not only the state coffers, but also fair competition.
The overall balance of control activities since the beginning of 2024 is significant: the financiers of Caserta they identified 165 undeclared workers and 440 irregularly employed workers. 100 employers responsible for violations in the field of personnel employment were sanctioned. The fight against tax evasion also brought important results. The operations conducted led to the discovery of 44 total evaders, completely unknown to the tax authorities, who have subtracted income of over 95 million euros from the tax system.
