The Carabinieri of the operational and radiomobile unit of the territorial department of Mondragone carried out a targeted check in an industrial warehouse in via Catanzaro, in Volturno Castle.
During the investigations, the military discovered a garage used as a storage and transformation site for mechanical and body parts belonging to stolen or dubious work vehicles.
Inside the warehouse, the Carabinieri found a Bobcat forklift and six van carcasses without license plates and chassis numbers, a truck reported stolen on June 17 in Nola, an Iveco compactor stolen a few days ago in San Felice a Cancello, a van stolen on September 4 in Pomigliano d'Arco, in the Naples area, and an Iveco Daily van stolen on August 28 from a company in Cesa, in the Caserta area.
The warehouse, among other things, was illegally connected to the public electricity grid. The entire structure, the immediate appurtenances and the eleven vehicles found were seized.
The user of the shed, a 43-year-old from Naples, was taken to the police station and reported at large. He will have to answer for receiving stolen goods and aggravated theft of electricity.
