For two decades, a couple of parents from Cercola lived in terror, forced to endure constant requests for money and threats from their 34-year-old son. His addiction to drugs and alcohol turned family life into a nightmare, so much so that the parents took turns sleeping for fear that he would harm them during the night.
The latest attack occurred last night, when the son showed up at his parents' home, screaming and kicking the door, threatening to kill them unless they handed over money. The intervention of the Carabinieri from the Cercola station put an end to this dramatic situation: the 34-year-old was arrested and will face charges of mistreatment and attempted extortion.
He is now in prison.
