Cilento Tastes 2024, the second edition kicks off from 27 to 29 September with the artisans of taste

From 27 to 29 September, the former tobacco factory of Capaccio-Paestum will host the second edition of Cilento Tastes, the event that celebrates the “Cilento brand” in all its facets, not only food and wine but also culture and craftsmanship. After the success of the first edition, which attracted 9.000 visitors and 100 , this year the event aims to be even richer and more engaging, offering a journey through the flavors, history and traditions of a land that is the heart of the Mediterranean diet.

The event, which opens its doors on Friday 27 September at 19:00, will continue on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to 24:00, with a packed programme of events. At the heart of Cilento Tastes are the “artisans of “, 90 exhibitors ready to tell and let you taste the Cilento agri-food excellences, from dairy specialties to local wines. Among the protagonists, the Cilento Winery, a space dedicated to the best labels of the Consorzio Vita Salernum Vitae, with tastings guided by FISAR sommeliers.

Ma Cilento Tastes is not just food. The rich program also includes 7 masterclasses, where industry experts will explore iconic products such as olive oil, cheeses, cured meats, the iconic Cilentana pizza and the beloved mozzarella. There will also be conferences dedicated to crucial themes such as hospitality, food marketing, olive growing and the Sostevin project, which aims at sustainability in the wine sector.

A large space is reserved for Cilento music, with evening concerts that will accompany visitors on a sound journey to discover the musical roots of the territory. A particularly eagerly awaited event will be the screening of the documentary film The Cilentenari, which tells the story of seven centenarians from Cilento, celebrating the myth of longevity that has made this land famous. Director Andrea D'Ambrosio will be present to share his work with the public.

For the little ones, an area has been set up Lab for Kids, where children can take part in creative workshops on ancient Cilento crafts, learning to make straw baskets or decorate ceramics, and discover the secrets of artisanal ice cream thanks to the expert Domenico Belmonte.

Among the novelties of the 2024 edition, the participation of stands out: From scratch, famous ambassador of Cilentana pizza, who brought the excellence of Cilento to cities such as Milan, Florence and Turin. The event will also host a preview of the Gin Paestum, a new creation from the Old Tom Gin company, and an experimental project on “dry” rice conducted by the Hera nei Campi company.
