A new, disturbing chapter has been added to the investigations into the Camorra cartel of Aldo Picca, dismantled by the DDA yesterday in the province of Caserta.
According to the charges, the boss attempted to extort land from the Episcopal Curia of Aversa, with the intention of building a crematorium next to a cemetery.
The investigation uncovered a criminal plot involving a professor and his father, unsuspecting tenants of the land. Picca, having identified the victims, allegedly contacted and threatened them to force them to hand over the land.
The intercepted conversations reveal the ruthless determination of the boss: "The land is useful to me", he would have thundered, faced with the timid threats of denunciation from the professor, unaware of his identity.
"He is a professor and I am a delinquent."
The father, in an attempt to calm things down, allegedly tried to mediate, but Pike would have arrogantly emphasized the difference between them: "He is a professor and I am a delinquent."
The area in question, designated for agricultural use, had been illegally occupied with a soccer field and shacks, without the knowledge of the Curia. The entire affair represents a new piece in the mosaic of the Picca clan's illicit activities and sheds an even more disturbing light on the boss.
