Acerra. Last night, Carabinieri officers from the Castello di Cisterna Company responded to Via San Cuono in Acerra following a report of gunshots.
According to an initial reconstruction, still under examination by the authorities, a 32-year-old man of Tunisian origin and his cousin, a 23-year-old from Acerra, were approached by unknown individuals riding a scooter.

One of the attackers allegedly hit the 32-year-old in the face with the butt of a gun, repeatedly. The perpetrators then fled, firing several shots into the air, which later turned out to be blanks.
The victim was taken to the emergency room at the Villa dei Fiori Clinic and is not in life-threatening condition. The Carabinieri investigation is ongoing, but the motive for the attack remains unknown.
