A 14-year-old boy was stopped by police on charges of shooting and wounding a 20-year-old last July in the center of Naples.
The attack, which took place on Via Foria on July 21, appears to have occurred during a period of territorial control by criminal gangs. The injured man, shot in the abdomen, survived after undergoing delicate surgery.
Today, after months of intensive investigations, a 14-year-old boy was arrested on charges of attempted murder.
According to the investigations, the young would-be assassin did not act alone, but in the company of a 16-year-old accomplice, already incarcerated in a juvenile penal institution.
L'ambush, according to investigators, is part of a broader context of tensions between juvenile criminal groups competing for control of the territory. A context that, unfortunately, is not new to Naples and that risks involving more and more young people, attracted by the sirens of an easy and dangerous life.
