The latest market move of the Cagliari, Gianluca Gaetano, introduced himself with words full of emotion and gratitude. After a long wait and a negotiation that kept the midfielder and the rossoblù fans in suspense for two months, the agreement has finally come to fruition.
“Signing for Cagliari was wonderful and exciting”, Gaetano declared through the club's official channels. “The wait was long and mentally difficult, but we finally did it. That's what matters.”The player, coming off a positive season, underlined how fundamental the support received during this period was: “The whole Cagliari environment was very close to me: the affection of the fans and the support of my teammates were very important for me”.
Gaetano then wanted to thank the club and in particular the president Giulini and the director Bonato for the trust placed in him, inviting the fans to the stadium for the next match: "I'll see you at the stadium on Sunday".
Speaking about his integration into the team, the midfielder praised the group and the new coach Nicola: “I found a very strong group, with sound principles. Everyone tries to lend a hand to their teammate, and it is by following this path that great things can be achieved.
Mister Nicola is a very well-prepared coach, with an aggressive game that I like a lot."
Gaetano does not hide his personal ambitions, but remains focused on collective goals: “My first ambition is to achieve safety with Cagliari as soon as possible. Then, I would like to improve my performances, perhaps scoring a few more goals than last season”. And as far as the national team is concerned, Gaetano keeps his feet on the ground: “I think about it every now and then, but it's not an obsession.
If one day the CT calls me, it will be a pleasure."
In conclusion, Gaetano he looked ahead to the next challenge against the Napoli, a match that has a special flavour for him: “It will be a beautiful, difficult and physical match. For me it will be special, because I will play against the team of my city, of my heart.
Napoli with mister Conte have changed their way of playing, now they are more aggressive, but we also propose the same type of football. It will be a very hard-fought match.”
