It closes today, September 14, with Achilles against Odysseus, with Matteo Nucci, an antiquarian and writer, on stage, who speaks mainly about Achilles, and Gino Castaldo, a music critic and music historian, who instead will retrace Odysseus' journey through pop music. In this case too, surprises are in the offing.
The last concert scheduled for the evening of September 14th will be that of Flo and her trio in Canzoni di sale. One of the most interesting singer-songwriters on the Italian scene, Flo will also propose a musical journey, interspersing the songs with stories of which she is an unparalleled narrator.
The leisure of Hercules is promoted by the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum and are born from an idea of the director Francesco Sirano, with the care of Gennaro Carillo and continues on September 13th and 14th.
“There is a Hercules of the famous labors, a Hercules whose story coincides with the affirmation through the enterprises of his figure (even when the labors bring benefits to Humanity), and there is a founder Hercules, who accompanies and protects – declares the Director Francesco Sirano – but the stories of Hercules are only partially superimposable to those of the Greek Hercules.
Hercules, who gives his name to the ancient and modern city, could not but offer the opportunity to dedicate this fourth exhibition of “Gli Ozi di Ercole” to the eponymous hero and to heroes in general. Once again the event, made possible within the scope of the Enhancement Plan of the Ministry of Culture, was expertly set up by Gennaro Carillo and curated with Stefania Siano.
Also this year Gli Ozi di Ercole will be a unique opportunity to get closer to the extraordinary UNESCO site through a journey through ancient and modern culture, accompanied by internationally renowned experts and escorted by a captivating formula that includes moments of dramatic art alternating with dialogue between scholars and concerts”.
"The fourth edition of the Ozi wants to be a tribute to Hercules, the eponymous hero," declares Gennaro Carillo, "and to other figures drawn from the vast repertoire of classical mythology. Distinctive features of the Ozi 2024 are the comparison and tension between languages and eras, with an even greater focus on music and theater than in previous seasons.
It is no coincidence that the historical-critical discourses will be 'counterpointed' by performances by some of the best actors on the Italian scene (Massimo Popolizio and Roberto Latini) and by concerts entrusted to almost unique artists who – each in their own way – will in turn explore the universe of myth and its contemporary resonances”.
