"The Betrothed" in Salerno: The Stage Postponed to 2025
The long-awaited Salerno performance of Michele Guardì's new version of "The Betrothed" has been postponed to March 29, 2025. This performance will be the only one in Campania and marks the third leg of the modern opera's national tour, marking the 150th anniversary of Alessandro Manzoni's death.
The National Tour
The national tour of Michele Guardì's modern opera will officially start in 2025, with Rome hosting the debut in January and Taranto in March, immediately before the arrival in Salerno. AttoTerzo Produzioni Teatrali, in collaboration with EMA Entertainment, has confirmed the postponement of the Salerno leg to March 29, 2025 at the Teatro Augusteo, with tickets already available on the Ticketone platform.
Celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Manzoni's Death
The show receives the prestigious moral patronage of SIAE and is also defined as being of strong cultural interest by the Ministry of Culture and Education, underlining the importance of the event in the calendar of celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the death of Alessandro Manzoni. Producer Tony Bottazzo stated that the work pays homage to the historical, poetic and human values of the Italian literary masterpiece, promising the public an exciting journey through an atmosphere faithful to the era and to the genius of Manzoni, enriched by exceptional sets and breathtaking projections.
Cast and Production
The modern opera is characterized by a colossal staging and an emotional power that transforms it into an unprecedented experience for the spectators. The exceptional and talented cast includes Graziano Galatone in the role of Don Rodrigo. Galatone is already known for his success in the role of Febo in Riccardo Cocciante's “Notre Dame de Paris”. Lalo Cibelli, famous for his role as Spoletta in Lucio Dalla's “Tosca”, will play the Unnamed. Maria Grazia Di Valentino in the role of Geltrude and Margherita Rebeggiani as Lucia complete the main cast. In this performance, the classic story of the two lovers takes on new life, offering the audience an unforgettable and immersive performance.
