Serious road accident on the island of Ischia: on Thursday, September 26, an EAV bus and a Piaggio van collided head-on on Via Michele Mazzella, in the Pilastri area.
The impact was very violent, causing six injuries, including the driver of the van, a young man of about 20 years old, who is in critical condition.
The van's cabin crumpled, trapping the driver inside. Firefighters had to intervene to free him, after which he was rushed to Rizzoli Hospital, where he underwent surgery.
Five people on thebus numbers, including the driver and a French tourist, were also injured but their conditions are not serious.
Firefighters, medical personnel and law enforcement arrived on site to carry out the necessary investigations. According to an initial reconstruction, the van would have invaded the opposite lane causing the head-on collision.
