The four security guards at the Policlinico Hospital in Naples who beat to death 62-year-old Francesco Vanacore from Vico Equense last April morning after he asked to drive in for a cardiology exam were caught by chats and wiretaps.
Since yesterday morning, by order of the investigating judge Nicola Marrone of the Court of Naples, Gennaro Russano, 35 years old from Maddaloni; Vincenzo D'Aiello, 50 years old also from Maddaloni; Antonio Pefetto, 31 years old from Santa Maria Capua Vetere, Francesco Lizza, 49 years old from Avellino, have been placed under house arrest.
The first is the one who clashed with Francesco Vanacore, and in fact it was he who explained to the prosecutor: "He had asked me to access the lane of the Policlinico, but he didn't explain to me that he was a cardiac patient. He didn't have a permit, so I stopped him from driving. He threatened to get out of the car and kill me.

The woman and the driver tried in vain to stop him, but he had time to reach a flowerbed, where he had spotted a crowbar (or a broomstick) hitting me on the arm and side. Then my colleagues Perfetto, Lizza and D'Aiello arrived”.
Then the violence against the man began. A decidedly disproportionate action as the investigating judge wrote, “he was beaten even when he was lying on the ground”.
