Dawn Concerts and Sunday Lunch

The dawn concert in the enchanting setting of the Medieval Castle and the classic Sunday lunch kicked off the last day of the sixth edition of “Wine and Jazz – Borgo DiVino”. This event, which celebrates good music, culture, ancient traditions, wine and food and wine, was organized by the Centro Studi Mousikè association and the Pro Loco di Lettere, with the patronage of the Campania Region, the Directorate General for Entertainment of the Ministry of Culture, the Monti Lattari Park Authority and the Municipality of Lettere.

Quality Music in the Historic Castle Walls

In the courtyard of the medieval Castle of Lettere, a particularly evocative concert was held starting at 6 in the morning. Organized by the association led by President Giuseppe D'Antuono, the event was able to combine the passion for music with the cultural and landscape riches of the territory. The notes of songs such as "Canção do amor demais" resounded thanks to the performance of Bossanova and Standard Jazz and the voice of Australian singer Lucy Smithson Kiely, accompanied by Alfredo Intagliato (saxophone), Gianluca Marino (guitar), Vincenzo di Somma (double bass) and Ciro Coticelli (drums). The day ended with the concert of the Jazz Band of the Liceo Severi of Castellammare di Stabia, directed by the maestros Francesco Greco and Ciro Coticelli.

The President's Comment

D'Antuono President D'Antuono expressed great satisfaction for this year's edition of the event: "This year too we have combined the refinement of wine with the magic of jazz music, offering a journey through flavors and notes, with the enchanting backdrop of the Castello di Lettere and its medieval village. We have involved both expert musicians and young talents, culminating in the new band formed by 45 young people who will soon take part in a tour abroad".

Training and Masterclasses

A rich musical program, including jazz training courses for young people and masterclasses with professional musicians, characterized the events. The festival was opened by the performance of the Michele Di Martino Jazz Band and saw the participation of various artists. The educational component was also strong, with masterclasses held by the Michele Di Martino Jazz Quartet and the Australian singer Lucy Smithson Kiely.

Enhancement of the Territory

The participation in the evenings of the festival in Borgo San Nicola saw a great influx of public, thanks also to the collaboration of the Raffaele Viviani Hotel Institute. Catello Comentale, president of the Pro Loco di Lettere, underlined the importance of enhancing the artistic-cultural, landscape and food and wine resources of the territory, with the aim of inserting them in the regional and national elite tourist circuits.

Guided Tours and Tastings

During the three days of the event, participants had the opportunity to take guided tours of the Medieval Castle, the town's vineyards and the Cathedral of Sant'Anna. The tastings were accompanied by entertainment music, with concerts by various jazz bands that further enriched the food and wine experience. The final evening saw the trio "Les Passants" perform with a project that proposed pieces from the French manouche jazz tradition and other original arrangements. The event concluded with the ribbon cutting in the presence of the mayor Anna Amendola and the President of the Monti Lattari Regional Park, Enzo Peluso, confirming the great success and participation in the event.
