After Napoli's resounding 4-0 victory over Cagliari, goalkeeper Alex Meret spoke to DAZN about the performance, acknowledging the match's initial difficulties and the importance of the victory. “We knew from the start that it would be a very dirty game, with long throws and second balls.”
“In the central part we suffered a bit from their game, but we were good at resisting and with the counterattacks we managed to close it out,” Meret explained, underlining the defensive solidity of the team. The Italian goalkeeper then highlighted the value of this third consecutive victory: “Winning three games in a row gives us confidence and should make us understand that we are a good team.”
Meret also spoke about the recent arrival of Romelu Lukaku, praising the Belgian striker's impact: “You can see that he is a great champion, he has quality and experience and he can only do us good.
We have to make the most of him, playing on his characteristics of keeping the ball and making lay-offs. We will try to make him score as many goals as possible."
