New York takes the title of world pizza capital thanks to Una Pizza Napoletana by Anthony Mangieri, elected Best Pizzeria in the World for 2024 according to the prestigious guide Top 50 PizzaThe change at the top was announced during the awards ceremony at the Teatro Mercadante in Naples, hosted by Spanish journalist and influencer Verónica Zumalacárregui.
The important recognition comes from the guide edited by Barbara Guerra, Luciano Pignataro and Albert Sapere, considered the most authoritative in the sector. In second place, ex aequo, are Diego Vitagliano Pizzeria of Naples and The Masanielli by Francesco Martucci in Caserta, both already first in the rankings 50 Top Pizza Italy 2024The third step of the podium is instead occupied by The Pizza Bar on 38th, in Tokyo, led by Daniele Cason, first for 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific 2024.
Continuing the ranking, in fourth place is Border by Francesco Capece and Mario Ventura in Milan, followed in fifth position by Naples on the Road, in London, by Michele Pascarella. Among the other pizzerias in the top ten, the following stand out Tony's Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco, by Tony Gemignani, The limes in San Bonifacio, by Simone Padoan, Sartoria Panatieri in Barcelona, by Rafa Panatieri and Jorge Sastre, 50 Kalo by Ciro Salvo in Naples and Your Pizza Illuminati in Rome, by Pier Daniele Seu.
“50 Top Pizza is a great community of quality pizza in the world,” declared the curators Guerra, Pignataro and Sapere. “In 2024, between independent pizzerias and artisan chains, we have included 2500 addresses in the guide. A product like pizza knows no limits: it is the most loved and known food in the world.”
The world ranking of 50 Top Pizzas 2024 includes pizzerias from 29 different countries. Italy dominates with 41 represented establishments, followed by the United States with 15. Naples confirms itself as the most represented city, with five pizzerias in the ranking, while other important cities are New York, Sao Paulo del Brazil, Milan, Rome and Caserta, all with four pizzerias each.
