Army personnel responded promptly to the city of Salerno, where a patrol involved in the "Safe Roads" operation was involved in a rescue operation that prevented the worst from happening. During a routine patrol, soldiers from the 19th "Cavalleggeri Guide" Regiment, part of the "Campania", they were called by the screams of some passers-by who reported the sudden illness of a woman.
Without hesitation, the soldiers approached the woman, who was lying unconscious on the ground. With extreme speed, the soldiers immediately began first aid, clearing the woman's airway, which appeared to be blocked. After a few minutes of intervention, the woman regained consciousness, thanks to the soldiers' prompt action and training.
The work of the "Cavalleggeri Guide" members didn't stop there. After stabilizing the woman, the soldiers continued to monitor her closely until the arrival of 118 medical personnel, who took charge of the situation and provided further treatment. The episode had a happy ending in the following days. The woman, along with her family, expressed her desire to meet the soldiers who rescued her and thank them personally. In a touching meeting, she expressed her deep gratitude to those whose prompt intervention saved her life.
