A tragedy has shaken the peaceful countryside of Montecalvo Irpino.
Late yesterday afternoon, September 10, a 45-year-old man lost his life following the collapse of a tree while he was busy cleaning up his land.
The tragedy occurred in the Palombaro district, where the victim, driving his agricultural vehicle, was hit on the head by the trunk that fell to the ground.
The violent impact caused a serious head trauma that left him with no chance of survival.
Immediately alerted, the 118 doctors rushed to the scene of the accident and desperately tried to stabilize the man's conditions, urgently transporting him in red code to the hospital in Avellino. Unfortunately, every attempt to save his life proved futile.
The police intervened to carry out the necessary surveys and start the investigations. At the moment, the causes that led to the tree collapse remain to be clarified.
Investigators are evaluating several hypotheses, including the state of health of the tree, the weather conditions at the time of the accident and the possible presence of external factors that could have contributed to the collapse of the trunk.
The man's body was transferred to the Ariano Irpino morgue, at the disposal of the judicial authorities who will have to decide whether to order an autopsy.
Meanwhile, the local community is shocked by this tragedy that took away a young father. Friends and relatives are shocked and in disbelief in the face of such a cruel fate.
