A moment of great emotion and intense prayer for the pilgrims who, on Sunday 29 September, will be at Montevergine: visiting His Excellency Monsignor Rino Fisichella, pro-prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, section for Fundamental Questions of Evangelization in the World and responsible for the organization of the Jubilee of 2025.
Monsignor Fisichella, at 11 am, will celebrate the Holy Mass in honor of the Madonna inside the Cathedral Basilica of the Sanctuary of Montevergine. The visit of Monsignor Fisichella, in line with the motto of the upcoming Jubilee “Pilgrims of Hope”, represents the spirit and essence of the values of the upcoming Jubilee Year, that is, looking to the future with an open mind, a trusting heart and a far-sighted mind.
“The visit of Monsignor Rino Fisichella has great significance for the Benedictine community and for all of us Christians, even more so in these weeks that separate us from the opening of the Holy Door of the Jubilee of 2025: we all have the “responsibility” to “keep hope alive” and be a firm point of reference for pilgrims who need certainties, courage, prayers and hope,” says the abbot of Montevergine and Assisi Dom Riccardo Luca Guariglia.
