The world of television and journalism says goodbye to Luca Giurato, who passed away today in Rome at the age of 84 due to a sudden heart attack. Born on December 23, 1939 in Rome, the journalist was married for the second time to the Rai journalist, Daniela Vergara and had a son from his first marriage to Gianna Furio.
His journalistic career began very early, when he was hired at just over twenty years old by Paese Sera. A professional since 1965, Giurato has had a brilliant career both as a journalist and as a television host.
Known for his gaffes and slips of the tongue
His first appearance on the small screen dates back to 1992 with the program “A tutta stampa”, a press review within Tg2notte. Since then, he has participated in numerous programs, including “Domenica In” (since 1993), “Unomattina” (since 1994), “La vita in diretta”, “Quelli che il calcio” and many others.
Giurato was also a commentator on reality shows such as “L'isola dei famosi” in 2008 and “I consigliati” in 2009. The journalist was known not only for his smile and his irony, but also for his famous gaffes and linguistic slips that made him a much-loved character and often cited by television programs such as “Mai Dire Goal” by Gialappa's Band and “Striscia La Notizia”, which dedicated a column to him entitled “Ci vorrei GIURATO”.
In addition to his wife and son, Giurato leaves behind two brothers, Flavio Giurato, a singer-songwriter, and Blasco Giurato, a director of photography, and a sister, Claudia, a geologist.
