The 2024/25 Scena Teatro Management review begins
A double inauguration of musical performances will mark the launch of the 2024/25 season curated by Scena Teatro Management, Antonello De Rosa's renowned company, a key player in Salerno's cultural scene.
Lalla Esposito and her homage to Domenico Modugno
The festival opens on Saturday, September 7th at 20:30 PM with a performance by renowned Neapolitan artist Lalla Esposito. The concert, titled "BLU - Homage to Domenico Modugno," will take place in the evocative San Marco a Rota archaeological site, located on Via Spiano in Mercato San Severino. Lalla Esposito, a renowned actress and singer, will bring to the stage a poetic and innovative journey through Modugno's music. Esposito is one of the most iconic performers on the contemporary Neapolitan scene. Having joined Roberto De Simone's company at just 23, she saw her career take off with her role in Armando Pugliese and Elvio Porta's celebrated "Masaniello." Her show, dedicated to Domenico Modugno, combines song and theater, even including readings from the singer's memoirs.
Romolo Bianco reinvents the Neapolitan song
The second concert is scheduled for Sunday, September 22nd, again at 20:30 PM and at the same location. Romolo Bianco will take the stage with "METAVERSO NAPOLETANO," a project that reimagines the tradition of Neapolitan song through electronic music. Born in Casoria, Romolo Bianco is a multifaceted artist who has lived in the United States for years. With his concert, he aims to offer audiences a new vision of authentic Naples' suburbs. Bianco is known for his ability to evoke powerful images through music, so much so that he has been named Ambassador of Neapolitan Music worldwide. His appearances in numerous shows by renowned composers such as Peppe Lanzetta and Pasquale De Cristoforo are a testament to his value and the appreciation of his artistic talent.
Upcoming events
Among the upcoming performances scheduled for November, "The Coephori," the tragedy from Aeschylus's trilogy translated by Pier Paolo Pasolini and directed by Antonello De Rosa, stands out.
