A day that began with joy and ended in a nightmare. Two friends, after attending a wedding, were returning to Napoli when they were chased by a car pretending to be a police car, with the intent to rob. The two filed a complaint.
“Last night, my daughter and a friend were driving back to Naples after passing the Caserta Sud toll booth when they were chased by a white Alfa Giulia.
The car came dangerously close, almost ramming them. My daughter managed to avoid contact, but the car tried to force her against the guardrail. With a skillful maneuver, she avoided the block, but the criminals activated a blue flashing light, blocking her path.
A man wearing a balaclava and a gun got out of the Alfa, pointing the gun at their car. With a quick move, my daughter managed to escape and contact the traffic police, who reached them and escorted them.
The license plate of the car was false, confirming the attempted robbery. Be careful, a white Alfa Romeo Giulia, with a CL license plate.” This is the father's story to the deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
“These criminals must be stopped immediately. Their crazy maneuvers on a highway could cause serious injuries or worse. Posing as police officers further worsens their position, making their actions even more dangerous.
It is necessary to increase controls also on the highways, since there are no safe zones anymore. Unfortunately, it is not the first time I hear of these robberies, always with the same method and probably by the same individuals. It is urgent that these individuals be arrested.” This is what Francesco Emilio Borrelli, deputy of Alleanza Verdi – Sinistra, declared after having collected the victims’ complaint.
