Il sta per inaugurare la sua 25ª edizione, offrendo un programma ricco di eventi, incontri e proiezioni imperdibili. La preapertura è fissata per il 19 settembre con la proiezione del film “” di Ali Asgari al Cinema Vittoria.

Meeting with Ali Asgari

Iranian director Ali Asgari will be present at the screening of his film “The Secret Child”, where he will have the opportunity to meet the audience thanks to the introduction of the critic Alberto Castellano. The film, which will be distributed in Italian theaters starting September 19, has received the patronage of Amnesty International Italy. The film tells the story of Fereshteh, a young mother forced to hide her illegitimate daughter from her parents, highlighting the difficult situation of women in Iran.

Program of the Festival

The Napoli Film Festival will take place from September 24 to 28 at the French Institute in Naples. Among the special events, this year's edition will pay homage to two great figures of Italian cinema: Salvatore Piscicelli, with the screening of “Vita segreta di Maria Capasso” on September 26, and Gaetano Di Vaio, with “Glory Hole” by Romano Montesarchio on September 28. Other out-of-competition works not to be missed include “Il fuoco nella balena – I devoti dello Spartak San Gennaro” by Gianfranco Gallo and the preview of “Riverbero” by Enrico Iannaccone.

Competitive Contests

Two competitive contests are scheduled: SchermoNapoli Corti, dedicated to talents from Campania, and Nuovo Cinema Italia, aimed at feature films by young directors. Thanks to the support of the festival’s technical sponsor CIAK.rent, the winners will receive cash prizes. Among the works selected for Nuovo Cinema Italia, “Desirè” by Mario Vezza and “Global Harmony” by Fabio Massa stand out.

ScreenNaples Short

In the SchermoNapoli Corti section, we will find films such as “Il suono del tempo” by Mario Pistolese and “Mariangela Correale: libera di volare” by Elio Nubes De Filippo and Jessica Squillante. Other works promise to offer a varied showcase of short films from Campania, including “A piedi nudi” by Luca Esposito and “Era ora!” by Valerio Manisi.

The Juries

The juries called to judge the competitions are composed of important figures of the Italian cinema scene. For Nuovo Cinema Italia, the jurors will be the director Romano Montesarchio, the actor Nando Paone and the journalist Ilaria Urbani. For the SchermoNapoli competition, the jury will be formed by the director Enrico Iannaccone, the actress Antonella Stefanucci and the film critic Ignazio Senatore.
