The prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, has sent a circular to the mayor of Napoli and 10 other mayors of the metropolitan area with a population of at least 50 inhabitants.

The circular invites these municipalities to participate in the invitation-only procedure launched by the Management Authority of the 2014/2020 Legality Project of the Ministry of the Interior.

This initiative aims to fund projects for the construction of new video surveillance systems, or the replacement and upgrade of existing ones, with the goal of improving security in the affected areas.

The funding comes from the resources of the Poc Legalità 2014-2020 and varies from 150 thousand to 1.232.600 euros, based on the demographic size of each municipality. Applications must be submitted to the Prefecture by October 18, 2024.

Before being submitted to the POC Legalità Management Authority for review, evaluation, and funding, projects will undergo a technical assessment by the Campania and Molise Telecommunications Zone of the State Police.

If successful, the projects will receive approval from the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety.
