Naples, agricultural and floricultural workers' contract renewal signed

Naples. A 6% overall wage increase, taking inflation into account and ensuring fair compensation for agricultural workers.

But also the introduction of productivity bonuses, greater support for migrant workers, more attention to the problem of women victims of violence, initiatives to combat gangmastering and undeclared work through the creation and activation of the Quality Agricultural Network. And greater social protection in terms of contractual welfare.

The renewal of the Provincial Labour Contract (CPL) for agricultural and floricultural workers in the province of Napoli. The agricultural organizations Confagricoltura, Coldiretti and CIA, together with the trade unions Fai Cisl and Uila Uil, reached an agreement on the afternoon of Monday 9 September.

Among the main innovations, the salary increase of 5% starting from September 1, 2024 and of a further 1% starting from January 1. New professional figures are established, bilateral bodies are strengthened and the bonus for company objectives is increased from 700 to 800 euros.

For women victims of violence, it will be possible to avail of a 90-day leave of absence from work within three years; while in terms of welfare, a further period of leave is foreseen for workers with oncological pathologies.

Finally, important news concerns migrants, with the commitment to resolve problems related to transportation and residence, severance pay and language training.

The president of Confagricoltura Napoli, Giovanni Tammaro, announcing the signing of the agreement, expressed great satisfaction for the sensitivity shown by all the union representatives in reaching this important provincial agreement that responds to approximately 10 thousand workers in the province for a total of one and a half million working days.

“With this renewal we intend to overcome the difficult moment that the sector is experiencing, aiming at the valorization of work in agriculture and the increase and improvement of welfare benefits guaranteed by the bilateral body, providing at the same time concrete answers to all workers in the sector and to agricultural companies”.
