Naples. After months of complaints from residents and business owners, the Carabinieri of the Napoli Centro company carried out a high-impact operation in Piazza Dante, restoring order and security to one of the most iconic areas of the historic center.

The tight controls, concentrated especially in the evening and night hours, have led to significant results: over 25 fines issued, mainly for unauthorised access to the pedestrian area, and 13 scooters confiscated.

A hard blow for those who, with irresponsible behavior, put the safety of pedestrians and the liveability of the square at risk.

Not just undisciplined scooter riders

The Carabinieri operation also involved other aspects of security: a 24-year-old Tunisian, illegally residing on the national territory, was arrested on charges of improper robbery.

Due unauthorized parking, already fined previously, were reported again. Four people were reported to the Prefecture for drug use.

The Carabinieri will continue to monitor the situation and intensify checks, not only in Piazza Dante but throughout the historic center. The goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens and to restore the beauty and centrality of Naples' squares in social life.
