In recent days, the State Police have intensified patrols along the Caserta coastline, conducting a series of operations that have led to the arrest of twenty people and the reporting of nineteen others. The latest arrest involves a young drug dealer, stopped by officers of the Castel Volturno Police Station's Flying Squad. The young man was found in possession of narcotics, a hunting crossbow, a blank pistol, and a State Police uniform jacket.
The operation is part of a widespread control plan of the territory, which saw the police verify the identity of 4.983 people and inspect 1.729 vehicles. During the operations, eleven vehicles were seized and sixty-three violations of the Highway Code were ascertained. Particular attention was paid to people already subjected to preventive measures: 869 subjects were checked, with the consequent initiation of proceedings for the application of twenty-eight expulsion orders, twenty-six oral warnings, six special surveillances and three Dacur, or prohibitions of access to urban areas.
The authorities have concentrated their activities above all in the most critical areas of the municipality of Castel Volturno, notoriously subject to phenomena of illegality and criminal recrudescence. The interventions aim to prevent and repress crimes with particular reference to widespread crime and illegal immigration, problems that have afflicted the area for some time.
