The Founders' Support
The initiative is strongly supported by the creativity and imagination of Artistic Directors Lello Ferrara and Gaetano Coccia. Located in via Michelangelo Naldi 19, the Theatron aims to be a cultural outpost for the city of Portici. Ferrara and Coccia explain that the first theater season represents a space in which their personal taste meets the expectations of the public, with artists and friends who have enthusiastically contributed to making this project sprout.
Kineton Support
The Theatron project has found the support of the young software engineering company Kineton srl – Società Benefit. Giovanni Fiengo, CEO of Kineton, and Piero Marrazzo, director of the Centro Studi Kineton, have underlined the importance of promoting concrete actions in the territory. Their investment aims to transform the Theatron into an active cultural hub in the Vesuvian area, enthusiastically accepting this new challenge.
The Season's Poster
The season, morally sponsored by the Municipality of Portici, consists of thirteen varied and diversified shows. These events will see the alternation of established and emerging artists, with particular attention to the centrality of the word, both acted and dramatic.
Scheduled Events
– October 12-13: Nunzia Schiano opens the season with “Mater Purgatorii”, a reading/monologue on the figure of the mother.
– November 29 – December 1: Theatron company presents “The Irresistible Boys” by Neil Simon.
– December 7-8: “Marathon des sables” with Cosimo Frascella directed by Andrea Santantonio. – December 21-22: “Via Senzamore 23” by NEST, directed by Giuseppe Miale di Mauro with Giuseppe Gaudino as the protagonist.
New Year's Eve Inauguration
The new year will begin with “Visite” (January 18-19), directed by Niko Mucci, followed by shows such as “L'uomo dal fiore in bocca” by Luigi Pirandello (February 8-9) and “Costellazioni” by Nick Payne (February 22-23).
Season Conclusion
After a series of fascinating and engaging events, the Theatron will conclude its first season with Jean-Paul Sartre’s “Nekrassov,” on stage from June 6 to 8, adapted and directed by Lello Ferrara.
Theater workshops
In addition to the shows, Theatron also offers theater workshops called “Do your part!”, divided into different age groups, from children to adults. These workshops are led by a team of teachers who are experts in the various theater disciplines.
