New events mark the intense programming of the 2024 edition of Ra.id Festivals, the contemporary dance festival created with the support of the Campania Region, the Municipality of Solofra, the Municipality of Cairano and the recognition of the MiC. After the debut of the first three evenings, the season continues with new internationally renowned contemporary dance performances, ready to thrill the audience.
“Hybridus” by Cornelia Dance Company
The season continues on Friday, September 13 in the atrium of Palazzo Ducale Orsini in Solofra with the Cornelia Dance Company and their performance “Hybridus”. Inspired by the phenomenon of the Ballet Russes of the twentieth century, the contemporary dance triptych is signed by Maša Kolar, Nyko Piscopo and Nicolas Grimaldi Capitello. The central theme is the hybridization of the body in a contemporary context. Among the works present, “Petrushka” by Grimaldi Capitello, inspired by the ballet by Igor Stravinsky, and “Sa Rose” by Piscopo, a reinterpretation of Le Spectre de la Rose by Michel Fokine. The masterpiece closes with “Divine Beasts”, a new interpretation of Ravel’s Bolero signed by the Belgian choreographer Maša Kolar.
Mauro Astolfi and the “Spellbound Evening”
On Saturday 14th September, one of the most representative authors of the contemporary European scene, Mauro Astolfi, will present “A better place, Trust and Ascent”. The audience will be transported on an artistic journey that will culminate with “If you were a man”, a powerful quartet that pays homage to the male component of the company. The choreographies explore various themes and poetics, extracting known and obscure stories, manifesting Astolfi’s multifaceted creativity.
The Double Performance of September 15th
Sunday, September 15 will open with “The Halley solo” by Fabrizio Favale, performed by Daniele Bianco. In this dance, the performer moves like a comet through space, abandoning any narrative reference to explore dynamics and changes in dance quality. The evening closes with “Whisper” by Elisa Ricagni and Leonardo Carletti, a performance that touches on the theme of relationships and communication difficulties in an increasingly digital age. The duet represents a continuous struggle to establish a deep relationship, highlighting the complexity of human relationships.
