A Special Tribute to Sergio Bruni
The concert features Raiz accompanied by Giuseppe De Trizio (classical guitar, arrangements), Adolfo La Volpe (electric guitar), Giovanni Chiapparino (accordion), Francesco Corrado De Palma (drums), and Giorgio Vendola (bass). Raiz commented on the project linked to the album “Si ll'ammore è 'o ccuntrario d”a morte”, released in February 2023: “A heartfelt concert, between narration and sound, dedicated to the music written and performed by Sergio Bruni… His songs have accompanied my family history for a couple of generations and therefore by paying homage to the great artist I would have taken inspiration for a tribute to the world that generated me and gave me the means to express myself.”
The Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella
Founded in 1807, the Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella has trained some of the greatest musicians in history, including Bellini, Mercadante, and Cilea. The Conservatory offers approximately 70 study paths ranging from composition to conducting, from ancient music to electronic music. The Library holds a vast heritage with approximately 50.000 manuscripts, opera librettos, and rare editions, and an important collection of ancient instruments.
Program of the Exhibition
The “Archive Notes for the Mile of Memory” review continues with two other events. On Sunday, October 13, the Sala del Lazzaretto of the Santa Maria della Pace Hospital will host a concert by the Gagliano Quartet, which will perform “Notturno napoletano” dedicated to Giuseppe Martucci, with the participation of pianist Fabrizio Romano. Finally, on Saturday, November 30, at 18.00:900 p.m., the Big Band of the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory of Music, directed by Maestro Marco Sannini, will pay homage to the great XNUMXth-century Jazz composers with a repertoire that includes pieces by Strayhorn, Ellington, Mingus, and Lewis.
